Bob Sanders Out

Colts DB Bob Sanders has officially been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Browns.

 

Rosenfels To Start Monday Night

Texans coach Gary Kubiak said Saturday that Sage Rosenfels will start for the Texans Monday night against the Jaguars.

Matt Schaub took all the reps with the scout team Saturday, and could backup Rosenfels. That will be a game-time decision, but this makes Rosenfels a safer start. We see him as a borderline QB1 if you need help. Jacksonville's secondary is full of holes.

Plaxico Burress Accidentally Shot Himself

Fox Sports' Jay Glazer reports Plaxico Burress has shot himself in the leg, accidentally. He's out indefinitely.

 

ESPN's John Clayton is reporting the incident took place in a club. Plax was reportedly carrying a loaded gun that went off unexpectedly late Friday night or Saturday morning. He spent the night in the hospital, but the injuries are not believed to be life-threatening. It's well past time to pick up Domenik Hixon, but grab him if he's still available

Plaxico Burress To Sit Out Sunday

Giants receiver Plaxico Burress will sit out Sunday's game against the Redskins because of a sore right hamstring.

Domenik Hixon will start in Burress’ place. Attention fantasy geeks: Hixon had four catches for 102 yards and a touchdown against the Seahawks, when Burress was suspended for being a bonehead.

Reggie Bush To Play, And Play A Lot??

Saints RB Reggie Bush is listed as questionable for Week 13, but Saints coach Sean Payton said Friday that he fully expects Bush to face the Bucs.

 

Bush's practice was limited, but he did the most work he's done since his week 7 injury and made it through the week without setbacks. Expect Pierre Thomas to maintain a large role as New Orleans' short-yardage and change-of-pace back, but Bush to see 18-20 touches. The Saints likely wouldn't be bringing Bush back if they planned to "limit" him

Parker Practiced Again

Steelers RB Willie Parker practiced without limitations for the second straight day Friday, but is listed as questionable for Week 13.

 

The Steelers and Patriots square off at 4:15PM ET Sunday. Fast Willie appears likely to play, but is only worth waiting for if you own Mewelde Moore too. While the Pats rank 14th in overall run defense, they've surrendered only six rushing TDs all year and have been stout of late. New England held Ronnie Brown and Ricky Williams to just 58 yards on 16 carries in Week 12.

Steven Jackson To Play??

According to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, Steven Jackson will be active Sunday against Miami barring "an unforeseen setback between now and the noon kickoff."

 

If so, coach Jim Haslett has reneged on his vow to make Jackson practice a full day before using him again. Reporter Bill Coats says Jackson "probably" will start over Antonio Pittman. That may depend on how S-Jax looks in warmups and early in the game. Consider Jackson a strong RB2 if he's up

Good News For Cowboys

MRI results were negative for both Cowboys linebacker DeMarcus Ware and running back Marion Barber.

Ware left yesterday’s game with a hyperextended left knee. The team announced today that an MRI revealed no ligament damage. Barber suffered a dislocation of his right pinkie toe. An MRI revealed no fracture.

Both Ware and Barber will receive treatment throughout the weekend, and both are considered day-to-day. The Cowboys’ next game is at Pittsburgh on December 7.

Steven Jackson Game-Time Decision

Steven Jackson was limited in Rams practice again Friday and will be a game-day decision in Week 13.

 

S-Jax didn't put in a full workout all week, but the Belleville News-Democrat thinks he'll play. "I thought he did OK," coach Jim Haslett said. "I thought he got better as the week went on. We’ll make a decision by the game." The Rams host Miami at 1PM ET Sunday. While Jackson will be a risky play in a tough matchup and at less than full strength, he would be hard to sit because of his talent. Orlando Pace's (knee) return also helps him

Portis 50-50 For Sunday??

Redskins coach Jim Zorn considers RB Clinton Portis "50-50" to play in Week 13 against the Giants.

Zorn has called Portis 50-50 for the last three weeks, but he has yet to miss a game this year. "There's a chance he'll be there," Zorn said, "but he's still questionable." Portis did some light work in Friday's practice, which is encouraging. Owners need to check the inactives before Sunday's 1PM ET game against the Giants, but Portis should be all systems go.

Steven Jackson Practiced

Rams RB Steven Jackson took part in a second straight limited practice Thursday.

Jackson says he's "light years" ahead of where he was when he tried to play through the injury in Week 10. Coach Jim Haslett was more cautious, though, and wants to see Jackson opening up at full speed to ensure that he's 100 percent going into this week's game.    Keep an eye on more injury reports as the game gets closer

Nathan Vasher Out Sunday

Bears cornerback Nathan Vasher has a broken hand, which will cause him to miss Sunday night’s game at Minnesota.

The injury could knock Vasher out for the rest of the season.

Head coach Lovie Smith wouldn’t say whether Vasher will be placed on injured reserve.  The condition won’t require surgery.

 

Bulger To Play Sunday

Rams coach Jim Haslett confirmed Wednesday that Marc Bulger will play in Week 13 against the Dolphins.

Trent Green will be the backup. Bulger should have a longer leash than he did last week, if only because St. Louis needs these last five games to evaluate him. Putting Green again in won't do the franchise any long-term good.

He finally had that game we've all been waiting for.   And now he gets another horrible pass D in Seattle.   Over 125 yards and at least 1 score

Roddy White
No one is worse against the pass then the Chargers.   For some reason Roddy White plays pretty well on the road.   Don't hesitate.  

DeAngelo Williams
The Pack can't stop the run.   Plus Williams has had 4 straight great games.   He's hot right now, and Jonathan Stewart is getting the ball less and less. 

Jamal Lewis
The Colts struggle a bit against the run.  Cleveland has struggled on offense lately, and will need a big game from Lewis.  I think he provides.

Jay Cutler
He faces the Jets who are pretty decent against the run, but got shredded by Kerry Collins and Matt Cassell.   Even thought the Jets know what the Broncos will try to do, I still think Cutler plays pretty well.

Larry Johnson
How long has it been since I loved this guy??He always plays well against the Raiders.  The Chiefs are playing well on offence, and LJ should prosper.

Ronnie Brown
He's up agains the Rams who are 30th against the run and have allowed a ton of rushing TDs.   I know that Ricky Williams is still hovering around, but Brown will score and probably more than once.

Thomas Jones
No fantasy back has been more consistent the past 2 months.   And now he gets Denver!!!   Are you kidding me??    You saw what he did to the Titans and they can play D.   Huge day is a comin!!

Hines Ward
The Patriots are vulnerable in the secondary.   Plus Holmes won't be 100%.  I think Ward is going to be huge.   At least 1 TD.

Phillip Rivers
No matter who he plays, he plays well in San Deigo.  Atlanta is a good team, but vulnerable in the passing game, ranked 22nd.  Plus, no matter what they say, the Chargers are now a passing team.   Over 250 yards and a couple of TD tosses.

Jonathan Stewart
He's not 100%, plus his running mate DeAngelo Williams is getting more and more carries every week, which means less and less work for Stewart.

Derek Anderson
He'll get the start now that Brady Quinn is done for the year.   The Colts don't give up the big passing play, and I don't think Anderson's going to be ready and able by Sunday.   Under 175 yards

Matt Cassell
I know, I know.  I DID see his last 2 games.   But that is exactly what it was.  Just 2 games.   He's now up against the Steelers who have the best pass D in the game.  I'll be blown away if he throws 200 yards.

Plaxico Burress
He's banged up and might not even play.  Even if he does, the Giants are proving every week they can win without anyone.  Just ask Brandon Jacobs.   His play will be limited.

Jason Campbell
I thought he'd play great against Seattle who sucks, and he didn't.   So I'm guessing the Giants will take care of him too. 

Willie Parker
Another case of "check your injury list."   He might not play.  But even if he does, I'd think twice about starting him.   He seems to have a difficult time finishing a game, no matter what his health is going in.

Donald Driver
He is a good receiver who will get 5-7 catches.   So he still has value.   But Jennings is the man in Green Bay, and Rodgers seldom looks his way in the red zone

Dewayne Bowe
A talented receiver who has really played well this season for a bad Chiefs team.  He always seems to get his number no matter who he faces.   Not this week.  Oakland has, what might be, the best shut down corner in the game in Nnamdi Asomugha.   Asomugha has shut everyone down this season.   Of course, the Raiders might put him on Mark Bradley??...

The Titans are very, very angry.

The Ravens D will destroy the Bengals.

Willie Parker Questionable

Steelers halfback Willie Parker has swelling in his left knee and coach Mike Tomlin listed him as questionable to play Sunday for the Steelers at the New England Patriots. Parker left in the third quarter of the game Thursday against Cincinnati after he pulled up out of bounds after a 15-yard run. Mewelde Moore will start at halfback if Parker cannot return.

Asante Samuel and Correll Buckhalter Doubtful

The Eagles will most likely face the Cardinals on Thursday night without starting cornerback Asante Samuel or backup running back Correll Buckhalter.

Both are listed as doubtful; Samuel has a neck injury and Buckhalter has a knee injury.

Hall Of Fame Finalists Announced

Bruce Smith, the NFL's career sack leader, and versatile defensive back Rod Woodson are among the four first-time eligibles who made the list of 25 semifinalists for the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

The other two are tight end Shannon Sharpe and defensive end John Randle, on a list that will be reduced to 15 before the final vote on Jan. 31 in Tampa, Fla., the day before the Super Bowl.

There will be 17 finalists in all, including senior nominees Claude Humphrey and Bob Hayes and from that 17, four to seven new Hall of Fame members will be chosen.

Brady Quinn Done For The Year

Jay Glazer of FOXSports.com reports that Browns quarterback Brady Quinn is done for the year.

Per Glazer, doctors determined on Tuesday that Quinn’s broken finger has gotten worse after he tried to play on Sunday against the Texans.

Quinn also suffered damage to tendons in the finger as a result of playing with the injury.  Doctors were concerned that the tendon would detach from the bone if Quinn didn’t shut it down.

So Derek Anderson will return to the starting lineup.  

Julius Jones Back To Starting Lineup

Coach Mike Holmgren said Tuesday that Julius Jones will start Thursday against the Cowboys despite being benched in Week 12.

 

Maurice Morris topped 100 yards after replacing Jones, but Holmgren is giving him another chance against his former team. As usual, expect both backs to see significant snaps, making neither a strong fantasy option.
