Broncos WR Brandon Marshall skipping the Broncos’ mandatory minicamp, according to Mike Klis of the Denver Post.
Marshall could be fined by the team for not showing up.
As of Wednesday, Marshall’s agent, Kennard McGuire, hadn’t specified whether Marshall would attend the minicamp. Broncos coach Josh McDaniels had recently said that Marshall was expected to attend.
Marshall is unhappy with a contract that will pay him $2.198 million in 2009 as he heads into the final season of a four-year deal. He is also recuperating from hip surgery away from the Broncos’ headquarters.
Plus, according to Profootballtalk.com, Marshall has complained about the Broncos’ medical staff, accusing them of not discovering the full extent of his hip problem last year.
Per the report, Marshall still isn’t healthy enough to practice anyway. However, he’s still required to attend unless the team excuses him.
